Ambition and courage

Great meeting with Tejshiv Jain from Rereeti who's just coming to the end of a month's study fellowship at Museums Galleries Scotland. She's given up her day job in Bangalore to focus on her idea of creating a new professional body for India's museum workers, aiming to build skills in the sector and produce an international conference. Frustrated by the slow pace of change and the entrenched attitudes in the Indian museum sector - but inspired and ambitious about what could be achieved - Tejshiv has obviously decided that this is a job that someone's got to do and it might as well be her. Impressive stuff.
